Our History

August 12, 2007: First Service – Christ Open Bible opened its doors in the former home of Ruth Skidmore Erwin. There were 9 persons present in the AM service and 12 present in the PM. Pastors Wilma and Roger Erwin were among the 9 that were present.

October 17, 2007: Potential Future Site Visit – At 7:00 PM, 12 people met at the Garrison Funeral Chapel property to discuss converting the funeral home into a church, as well as the discussion of joining CCCU.

October 28, 2007:  Organization Meeting – Bro. Mike Holbrook, District Superintendent, joined as 13 Charter Members were taken in at Christ Open Bible CCCU.

  November 11, 2007: Last Service at Original Site – There were 11 present in the AM service and 18 present in the PM service.

  November 16, 2007: All papers signed to obtain the second location for Christ Open Bible CCCU (former funeral chapel location).

November 18, 2007: First Service at Garrison Location (Second Location) – There were 23 in attendance in the AM service and 17 in the PM service.

October 31, 2010: Last Service at Garrison Location (Second Location) – There were 49 present in the AM service and 63 in the PM service.

November 07, 2010: First Service at AA Location (Third Location) – There were 58 in attendance for the morning service and 64 at the PM service.

June 07, 2012:  – There were 99 in attendance.

June 10, 2012:  – There were 115 in the AM service and 91 in the PM service.

February 2017: Pastor Wilma and Roger resigned from Christ Open Bible Church to pursue other ministries. One happens to be Wilma’s video ministry that she has on Facebook. We want to thank them for their service. May God richly bless them in their new ministries.

July 9, 2017: Pastor Jamie Hanning became Senior Pastor. She and her Husband Keith moved from Logan, Ohio.
